Rest!
The soul who finds her rest in the Lord know the true value of rest. The restless soul yearns for it. In His presence peace begets peace. It’s more than a refreshing breeze on your brow, it’s a deep breath of contentment, assurance, and in the holy hush, comfort.
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him, He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2
Rest in Salvation
Rest comes when we are secure and perfect rest in the center of God’s salvation. Nothing else will do – nothing but God Himself will satisfy.
Listen to the Psalmist and learn the ancient way. The heart touch by the Holy finds something of great value. Sometimes we can put it into words and sometimes we can’t, but we always know when we’ve found it.
There is a before and an after His tender touch. Who would ever go back? An untouched heart knows nothing of this unshakeable rest.
Rest in the Secret Place
So, run to the Secret Place – behind closed doors alone with the Lord. Yield to the Father’s touch. His gentle lovingkindness will never lead you astray. Trust the Lord today.
Now is the time and here the place to enter into the rest from the faithful Rest Giver.
More than gold or silver or anything else, the Lord is our inheritance. As our Refuge, the Lord gives us rest in our salvation and security in our fellowship.
Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress; I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:5-8
Rest Seeking Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Here I come, weary and heavy laden. So many unanswered questions and so many things I cannot fix or understand. I come to You, Lord Sir. No to complain or cry in pain. No, I come because I need Your rest. I need to lay my head on Your unshakeable shoulder. I need the presence of Your peace. Mostly, I just need You alone. I need your covering of peace, upon peace, upon peace. I thank You for You. I love You, O Lord, my Rest. Amen
One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: that You O God, are strong, and that You, O God, are strong, and that You, O God, are loving. Surely You will reward each person according to what He has done for you. Psalm 62:11-12
Looking for peace? I’ve got just the perfect place for you. Are you ready? I bet He’s waiting for us. Let’s go!
